i really miss this

Do you remember that awesome feeling you'd get in your stomach as a kid when you spotted a big cardboard box (like one that a fridge might have previously been stored in)? That was always the best feeling. it afforded us hours of play time. I never felt more safe than when I was in a good card board box.

live it. learn it. love it.

Do you have doubts about life? Are you unsure if it is really worth the trouble? Look at the sky: that is for you. Look at each person's face as you pass them on the street: those faces are for you. And the street itself, and the ground under the street, and the ball of fire underneath the ground: all these things are for you. They are as much for you as they are for other people. Remember this when you wake up in the morning and think you have nothing. Stand up and face the east. Now praise the sky and praise the light within each person under the sky. It's okay to be unsure. But praise, praise, praise.

as we lay side by side, eyes focusing on the parts of you that make my heart race.. i realize, you're the only one. the only one.

excerpt and picture from a really neat blog

Are you angry? Punch a pillow. Was it satisfying? Not hardly. These days people are too angry for punching. What you might try is stabbing. Take an old pillow and lay it on the front lawn. Stab it with a big pointy knife. Again and again and again. Stab hard enough for the point of the knife to go into the ground. Stab until the pillow is gone and you are just stabbing the Earth, again and again, as if you want to kill it for continuing to spin, as if you are getting revenge for having to live on this planet, day after day, alone.

sometimes I feel like this

Sometimes I wish I was six

Yesterday Kaitlyn and I went to this really snazzy library in Newport News. It was near the Hilton. They had the greatest most alluring childrens' section. The books were so intriguing. The little stories were illustrated with simple motifs like pretty birds and sand castles with little red shoes that precious little feet would eventually fit into. The thematic issues were refreshing. Don't steal. Don't be reckless with the feelings of others. Be good. Be kind. Respect your Mother. Keep trying.

I'm learning how to pray. I need to pray more. I need faith. I must have faith.

I'm not saying that because I want to go to heaven. I'm sayting it, because I need to know there is something more out there- something far greater than what we are. But how do you find faith? Where are all the miracles?

She is mentally ill. rather was mentally ill. I am "ill." So I'm going to pray (?) to her. It seems appropriate given the circumstances and my reasoning.

dream a little dream

I saw this picture on someone else's blog. I immediately fell in love with the image and the opportunities that the real thing provides. I wish this room was mine. I would appreciate it like it should be.
When you think about it, your bedroom is one of the most important places in your life. You sleep there; most of us do indeed eat there; we spend a lot of time in there (well teenagers do). We cry at times into the pillow. We dream in there more than any other place. Well, except maybe math class.
We should treat it respectfully. And treating a room respectfully means putting thought and interest into its decor. So, next time you go out and start picking paint samples or what have you, instead of just saying this will do think about all that you do in there and let yourself be inspired to design the room of your dreams.
This picture makes me regret the comforter I picked out, etc. I wish I could go back and design it all over again.
